On Friday Aug. 22, 2008, a single-vehicle accident inside the Don Williams Campground claimed the life of 63-year-old James "Jim" Hill.

Pufferbilly Days kicked off Thursday afternoon at the Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad, 225 10th St., as passengers boarded a train ride to observe Boone County's countryside from the tracks.

Boone and the area outside of town not only saw an increase in vehicle traffic during the Farm Progress Show August 26- 28, but the Boone Municipal Airport also witnessed an increase in air traffic.
